Bio

Linda Rodriguez McRobbie is a features editor at New Scientist focusing on health and biomedical science. Linda joined the magazine after 12 years as a freelance journalist, covering everything from unique conditions of memory to stories of alien abduction, the ethics of pet ownership to whether invasive species are really so bad after all. She is a frequent contributor to the Boston Globe Ideas section, The Guardian and Atlas Obscura, among others. In 2023, she worked with independent journalism studio Long Lead to report and write the multiple award-winning People vs. Rubber Bullets, a six-part interactive series on the devastating effects of the use of kinetic impact projectiles. As a podcaster, Linda was the writer and host of iHeart Media’s Newton’s Law, an eight-episode exploration of Isaac Newton’s second career catching counterfeit coin makers. When she’s not writing about DIY DNA labs or how we should treat robots, Linda is a runner, swimmer, and mother of two.
